Throughout the year, academic vocabulary is developed through SAT / ACT preparation lists and terms from the readings to improve students own writing, speaking and understanding of the complex, rich texts we read.
Quizlet is a FREE online tool that supports students with learning vocabulary. Vocabulary for each unit can be found on quizlet which provides electronic flashcards for students to study, games, practices tests and more.
Why is Learning the Part of Speech Important?
The definition or denotation of a word tells us what the word means, but the part of speech tells us HOW to use the word and that's really the whole point of developing our vocabulary - so we can use it in our speech and writing.
